Upper Limits of 1 of a suit opening bids
1D: Upper Limit is decided only when:
- 2C opening is possible - thats Maximum 3 1/2 LTC or 23+ HCP balanced
- 2D and a 2N rebid is available thats: 19-20 HCP balanced - no singleton or void & No 6+ card diamonds.
- 2N opening thats: 21-22 and balanced is available - no singleton or void & No 6+ card diamonds.
- 5-5 with a Major. Open 2D and rebid 3D: 5-5 D+S or open 3D: 5-5 D+H
1H¦S: Upper limit is decided when:
- 2C opening is possible - thats Maximum 3 1/2 LTC or 23+ HCP balanced
- 2Ma opening is possible - a second suit of 4 cards and a LTC range of 4-5 or a 6+ card Major and 4-5 LTC
- 5-5 or better in Majors and 4-5 LTC. Open 3D
1C: Upper limit as follows: (Lower limit 12 HCP)
- 2D opening and a 2N rebid that's 19-20 HCP, balanced - No 6+ Card club suit.
- 2C <= 3 1/2 LTC or 23+ HCP balanced
- 2N opening 21-22 HCP Balanced
The Major openings have a slightly lower opening bid value of 10+
however it is more likely to have a lower upper limit due to our
2Ma 4-5LTC openings. 1Ma opening becomes less frequent with 16+ HCP.
